Assistant Court Clerk
SUMMARY

This is a highly technical position. The Assistant Court Clerk must have the ability to perform all duties and essential functions in a manner consistent with the Municipal Division’s department’s mission. The ability to accept responsibility, to make decisions and to effectively prioritize work. Interpersonal communications, verbal and written, with a diverse range of people, including the proper handling of emotional situations; ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with employees and citizens contacted in the course of work; meeting the public tactfully, and courteously answering questions in person and over the telephone

The Assistant Court Clerk must conduct themselves in a professional manner when dealing with customers at the window and on the phone; be responsible for incoming calls daily and must be able to multitask as needed; be responsible for data entry for all tickets; generate letters and other correspondence to defendants for missed court dates; responsible for all data entry for the court department with regard to tickets and anything else as delegated by the court administrator; file warrants and other cases as delegated by the court administrator; submit any deposit over $100.00 to Finance Department daily; must be able to handle large amounts of cash and reconcile daily; will handle all payments at the traffic violation bureau; will process attorney entries; will process new bonds for all new cases each docket date; will assist as needed with activating warrants. The position requires focus and the ability to handle a constant workload daily.

QUALIFICATIONS

Five years minimum experience in a municipal court department; experience as a Court Clerk; working knowledge of Show Me Court and IMDSPLUS software.

Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred
